If you're driven, detail-oriented, and ready to contribute to a major industrial project, this opportunity is for you.Why You'll Love This OpportunityBe part of a critical project that shapes essential infrastructureWork in a team that values craftsmanship, precision, and safetyPer diem available when requirements are metA strong opportunity for steady work and skill developmentJob DescriptionPosition and secure steel bars or mesh in concrete forms to reinforce concrete using a variety of fasteners, rod-bending machines, and power hand tools.Functional RequirementsDetermine number, sizes, shapes, and locations of reinforcing rods from blueprints, sketches, or oral instructionsSelect and place rod in forms, spacing and fastening them togetherCut rods to required lengths using metal shears, hacksaws, bar cutters, or acetylene torchesBend steel rods with hand tools and rod-bending machinesCut and fit wire mesh fabric using hooked rods, and position fabric or mesh in concrete to reinforce itMay weld reinforcing bars togetherEnsure that all reinforcing material is in proper position to receive its intended structural loadPlace blocks under rebar to hold the bars off the deck when reinforcing floorsQualificationsOne (1) to four (4) years of experience as an Apprentice or RodbusterNCCER Certification is preferred but not requiredPre-employment craft test, drug screen, physical, background check, and completion of safety training is a condition of employmentMust complete work accurately and follow all safety rulesMust be familiar with relevant hand and power toolsAble to work well in a team environmentOrganized and self-motivatedPhysical RequirementsMust comply with company's drug and alcohol abuse policyAble to climb and maintain balance on ladders, scaffolding, stairways, etcStoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, or work at elevated heights as well as in confined spaces (towers, vessels, excavations, etc.)Able to carry 50 lbs. of tool and/or materials. It is recommended to get assistance to lift items over 50 lbs.
